Radio One Announces Two New Vice Presidents & General Managers Dallas, TX and Richmond, VA Station Managers Get Promoted

{Silver Spring, MD…January 14, 2016} – Recent promotions at Radio One prove that hard work and good leadership pays off. Just a few months ago both Tami Honesty and Marsha Landess were named Station Managers of Radio One Dallas and Richmond markets respectively. Today, both of these impressive local radio professionals have taken the next step in their careers and have been promoted to Vice President and General Manager with full operating accountability for their markets.

Tami Honesty is a 20 year radio broadcast professional who came to Radio One four years ago as a General Sales Manager and was quickly promoted to Director of Sales and then Station Manager. Honesty has a vast marketing and sales background. She started her career as a part-time on-air talent and promotions assistant while in college. She has worked in a marketing and sales capacity at the Walt Disney Company’s ABC Radio Network and Clear Channel Communications with management positions ranging from syndicated radio, major market local clusters and national radio group properties. Honesty’s the mastermind behind creative marketing, sales and unique content development such as JAM Sessions, a concert series featuring Beyonce, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys and the webisode series, ‘The Urban Flava Creator.’
Honesty is now responsible for the Dallas two station market cluster of Mainstream Urban KBFB-FM and BOOM Classic Hip-Hop KSOC-FM.
Marsha Landess is a radio veteran with nearly 30 years of sales experience. She came to Radio One in 2003 as a Director of Sales Training and Development and worked to be an invaluable member of the Richmond team. Landess progressed from Training and Development to the Director of Sales, where she excelled in new business development and event marketing. Her performance and leadership catapulted her to Station Manager in 2015. Landess is on the Virginia Association Broadcasters Board of Directors and named to the Radio Ink “Best Managers in Radio” list in 2015.
Landess is now responsible for the Richmond four station market cluster comprised of Mainstream Urban (WCDX- iPower), Urban AC (WKJS-Kiss), Inspiration (WPZZ-Praise) and News/Talk (WTPS-AM).
