The DMV Welcomes Little Bacon Bear to the Airwaves

(Washington, DC – December 4, 2017) – WKYS 93.9 FM is pleased to announce that Khalia “Little Bacon Bear” Canty will be the new night show host, effective Monday, November 16, 2017. Little Bacon Bear will bring a new fresh sound and style to 93.9 WKYS Weeknights from 7:00 p.m. to midnight and weekends from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with features that include her Bacon Challenge, KYS Verses, Man Crush Monday and Woman Crush Wednesday.

Originally hailing from Topeka, Kansas, Little Bacon Bear, as she’s known to her tens of thousands of fans and listeners online, began her DJ career after moving to Maryland in 2012. Since then, she’s become one of the DMV’s most coveted young DJs. Having spun for brands like Essence and BET, she’s known for being at the forefront of music, nightlife, and culture. As one of radio’s freshest faces, she wants to use her platform to promote the continued significance of terrestrial radio in the eyes of artists, DJs, and listeners, while being an example of a successful woman in media.

Little Bacon Bear said, “I’m really excited to be a breath of fresh air to not only the radio but to the entire DMV.
